From high-performance tracking and cornering, to incredibly cheap but reliable budget rubber. Get safely back on the road instantly.
Your tyres are the only point of physical contact between your vehicle and the road. While many people think brakes stop a car, the truth is that brakes stop the wheels, but tyres stop the car.
Driving on worn or aged tyres drastically increases your stopping distance, severely affects cornering precision, and increases the terrifying risk of aquaplaning in wet British weather. Legally, your tyres must have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre. Driving with tyres below this legal limit risks your life, and exposes you to three penalty points on your license and a fine of up to £2,500 per illegal tyre.
At Surrey Tyres & MOT Centre, we maintain a vast inventory of top-quality tyres covering everything from rugged SUV treads to efficient city car rubber, all ready for fast same-day fitting.
Not always. We adhere strictly to British Standard (BS AU 159). We can legally repair a puncture if the damage is smaller than 6mm and is located cleanly within the central three-quarters of the tyre tread. Punctures on the tyre's sidewall or shoulder compromise its structural integrity and cannot be safely repaired; the tyre must be replaced.
Tyre markings include load indices and speed ratings indicating the maximum weight the tyre can safely carry and the maximum speed the tyre was designed to handle safely. We will always ensure we fit tyres that perfectly match or exceed your vehicle manufacturer’s exact specifications to keep your insurance fully valid.
We recommend actively checking your tyre pressures every two weeks, especially before a long motorway journey or when carrying heavy loads in your vehicle. Incorrectly inflated tyres run hotter, wear faster, increase your likelihood of blowouts, and burn far more fuel.
